Guidance on the use of Disaster Monitoring System for the staff of Disaster Management Policy and Technology center

Implementing the direction of the Director General of the Vietnam Disaster Management Authority on the dissemination and guidance on the use of Vietnam Disaster Monitoring System (VNDMS) and the Disaster Monitoring Application (App-VNDMS) for officials of the VNDMA, on August 26, 2020, at Disaster Management Policy and Technology Center, a training team organized and provided instructions to use for officials and employees working at the Center.

Meeting to discuss the coordination to provide database for the direction and administration of disaster prevention

On the afternoon of August 21, 2020, the Standing Office of the Central Steering Committee for Natural Disaster Prevention and Control held a meeting on the coordination and provision of databases to serve the direction and administration of natural disaster prevention.The meeting was chaired by Deputy Director of Central Steering Committee for Natural Disaster Prevention and Control, General Director of VNDMA Tran Quang Hoai. Attending the meeting include specialized units under VNDMA; Representative of General Department of Hydrometeorology; General Department of fisheries; General Department of Irrigation; Department of Crop Production, Department of Industrial Safety and Environment - Ministry of Industry and Trade and Vietnam Power Group EVN.

Instructions for using the Disaster Monitoring System for units under VNDMA

On August 24, 2020, at the meeting room of VNDMA, the Center for Disaster Policy and Technology introduced and instructed the exploitation of the Disaster Monitoring Application (App-VNDMS) for the units under VNDMA. Carrying out the assigned tasks, in 2019, the Center for Disaster Policy and Technology has developed a Disaster Monitoring Application (App-VNDMS). App-VNDMS is built and developed based on the Vietnam Disaster Monitoring System. Currently, App-VNDMS is widely used by disaster prevention workers. Participants in the meeting included representatives of units under the General Department, including a leader and a technician with knowledge of information technology.

Closing Ceremony Capacity Building Course for Central Trainers of Community-Based Disaster Risk Management

After 9 lessons, on July 24, 2020, at the Irrigation University, Vietnam Disaster Management Authority in cooperation with the Irrigation University, United Nations Development Program (UNDP) held the Closing Ceremony of the first course to strengthen the capacity of central faculty in community-based disaster risk management.

Using drone technology to collect information on the current status of critical dyke points

In order to supplement the database on dikes and natural disaster prevention and control in service of management, Vietnam Disaster Mamagenemt Authority assigns the Dike Management Department to coordinate with Disaster Prevention Policy and Technology Center to collect information on the status of important dykes through the use of unmanned aircraft technology.
