On 09/6/2016, Disaster Management Center held a technical workshop, chaired by Dr Vu Kien Trung – Deputy Director, on introducing and sharing the system with the relevant agencies of Directorate of Water Resources and some disaster management units such as Department of Disaster Prevention and Control, Vietnam Academy for Water Resources, Institute of Water Resources Planning and NGOs

Malteser International Organization coordinate with Disaster Management Center and Quang Tri Disabled People’s Organization jointly organized the training course on “Disability inclusive community-based disaster risk management” (DiCBDRM) in Quang Tri province.

Within the framework of cooperation on applying space technology for disaster prevention, Water Resources Directorate (Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development) and United Nation Platform for Space-based Information for Disaster Management and Emergency Response (UN-SPIDER) jointly organized technical workshop on spatial data infrastructure and process of building disaster map for emergency response.
4th ASEAN workshop on "Exercise and drill on the procedural guidelines for sharing space-based information during emergency response" in Bogor, Indonesia from 19-21 April 2016

The workshop is co-organized by UN-SPIDER, the ASEAN Coordinating Centre for Humanitarian Assistance on disaster management (AHA Centre), LAPAN, ESCAP, and UNOSAT. The workshop had been built on the outcomes of the chain ASEAN workshops on "Development of mechanisms for acquisition and utilization of space-based information during emergency response".

Members of the Lift You Up group have successfully completed a three-day follow-up training course on Digital Accessible Information System (DAISY) with Malteser International. The course took place from 28th to 30th March 2016 in Ha Noi, and focused on advanced technical skills, following a basic training course in January.

UN organized the “Debriefing of Joint Rapid Need Assessment to respond to Drought and Salinity Intrusion in Viet Nam” on the 30th of March, 2016 at Green One UN House.
Collect satellite image and develop the quick assessment drought map 2015 - 2016 for 05 provinces of Highland area and South Central Coast area (Ninh Thuan, Binh Thuan, Khanh Hoa province).

As assignment of the leader of Directorate of Water Resource, Disaster Management Center cooperated with Space Technology Institute to collect and analyze satellite images in order to assess the drought event during 2015 – 2016 for 05 provinces of Highland area (including Lam Dong, Dak Lak, Gia Lai, Kon Tum, Dak Nong provinces) and South Central Coast area (Ninh Thuan, Binh Thuan, Khanh Hoa provinces).
