Over the past 2 days, high waves and high tide have brought down the only coastal road in Tien Thanh commune, Phan Thiet city, Binh Thuan province. At the risk of hundreds of isolated households, local authorities are urgently opening another sandy road for vehicles to travel. Due to strong winds combined with many large waves continuously hitting the shore, Tran Le street - gravel road leading to Cau Tau residential area, belonging to Tien Duc and Tien Binh hamlets, Tien Thanh commune, Phan Thiet city, Binh Thuan province collapsed and drifted with water.

Many houses in Tien Binh village were swept away by waves.

The landslide area is now nearly 500m long and more than 20m deep inland. Many empty blocks of people who used to live here were also swept away by waves, leaving only bare nails.

In order not to affect the travel of the people, especially the returning students, the local government has sent a remedy force.

The landslide location is near the sea embankment project of Truong Phuc Hai Investment and Construction Co., Ltd. Therefore, Binh Thuan province also requires this company to temporarily dump stones so the landslide situation is not more serious.

Mr. Nguyen Nam Long, Vice Chairman of Phan Thiet City People's Committee, said that a temporary sand road is being opened quickly and will be completed in 1 or 2 days.

"We have installed warning signs and cross-roads to keep people alert when traveling on this road as well as work with households with land to pave the way and arrange a light-emitting lamp post for people at night. Easy travel, "said Mr. Long.
