Strong earthquakes shook off the coast of eastern Indonesia

10:54:4, 28/09/2020 A 6.2 magnitude earthquake rocked the area off the coast of Maluku province in eastern Indonesia, but there is no possibility of a tsunami.

On the morning of September 8, an earthquake of magnitude 6.2 shook the area off the coast of Maluku province, eastern Indonesia, but there was no possibility of a tsunami.

According to the Indonesian Agency for Meteorology, Climate and Geophysics, the earthquake occurred at 7:45 a.m. on September 8 (local time, the same time in Vietnam).

The earthquake was struck at a depth of 193km under the sea floor and 198km southeast of Trung Maluku district.

Indonesia is located in the Pacific Ring of Fire, an area of intense geological and volcanic activity.

In 2018 alone, Indonesia suffered a total of 11,577 earthquakes that killed many people and lost their homes./.
