Heavy rains cause flooding, causing traffic congestion on the 151provincial road in Van Ban district (Lao Cai).
From the night of 11 to dawn this morning, April 12, due to the influence of cold air masses from the north, heavy rain has occurred on a large scale in localities of Lao Cai province. Specifically, rainfall measured in Nam Xe commune (Van Ban) 18mm, Bao Ha commune (Bao Yen) 26mm, Vo Lao commune (Van Ban) 59.8mm; Son Thuy commune (Van Ban) has the biggest rainfall of 64mm.
According to local statistics, heavy rains caused flooding of pipes, inundation of Phu Nhuan and Vo Lao submarines more than 1m, vehicles could not pass, causing local traffic congestion on 151provincial road, linking Bao Thang district with Van Ban district. In addition, in Vo Lao commune, large floods inundated more than 7 hectares of rice, eroded a village cultural house and 50m of road traffic.
Currently, local authorities have mobilized local forces to help people overcome flood consequences, stabilize their lives and production.
