During the last flood season, most of the river basins in the Central Highlands do not appear flood, combined with the impact of El Nino, many reservoirs are not integrated enough minimum water to regulate the downstream water supply during the dry season including Ba Ha and Hinh hydropower reservoirs.
According to the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, next time, El Nino will continue to influence, especially in the Central region and Central Highlands and the flow to the reservoirs continues to reduce strongly. So, ensuring the water sources for downstream area in the dry season is extremely necessary to regulate water for agricultural production as well as power generation plans of hydropower plants.
