After heavy rain, water swept in the streets of Saigon

16:11:24, 09/06/2020 In the afternoon of 4/6, many roads in Thu Duc and Go Vap districts were deeply submerged after the persistent rain, fast flowing water made it difficult for pedestrians.


The extensive rain lasting more than an hour caused many roads in Ho Chi Minh City to sink into the sea. Of which, about 1 km of To Ngoc Van road, the section passing Linh Dong ward (Thu Duc district) is deeply flooded. "This part of the road is steep, when it rains heavily, every time it flood, I go ditch  the garbage in  to drain the water quickly," said Vo Thi Lan.

Lan led a lady's hand close to the sidewalk to avoid tripping over rocks and potholes that were sinking in the water.

Rough water flows down the slope on the To Ngoc Van - Linh Dong road. Many motorbikes must pull over to avoid curbing.

Residents on both sides of the road are constantly helping to push a stalled car and guiding people to find other paths to avoid flooding

The staff of the city drainage company uses the crowbar to remove the eel segments on To Ngoc Van street to drain the water quickly.

"Every rain  my house has to make a 'dyke' to shield the water, not damage all the electronic appliances for sale. Despite raising the house and still flooding the house, I have to clean up after all," said Khanh Thy, while sitting with her husband and children waiting for sprint on To Ngoc Van street.

Mr. Thun drove a garbage stick into the house. He said, every time the flood is rubbish into people's houses and alleys on the road.

In the area of Go Vap district, the heavy rain also made many roads such as Pham Van Chieu and Le Duc Tho ... immense water. On Nguyen Van Khoi Street, water flooded many alleys and parks.
