Thanh Hoa: Escaped death when dozens of tons of rock fell on house

Early in the morning of February 26, large rocks suddenly fell from the top of a mountain onto a house in the mountainous district of Ba Thuoc, Thanh Hoa province. These rocks were estimated to weigh tens of tons.

Ben Tre proactively responds to drought and salinity

Over the past few days, strong monsoon winds have caused saltwater to intrude deep into the mainland of Ben Tre province. People and the agricultural sector are actively implementing solutions to prevent saltwater intrusion and store fresh water for daily life and production.

Training and collecting socioeconomic data with a focus on gender, age, and social factors in Ca Mau province.

The Center for Disaster Prevention and Control Policy and Techniques, in collaboration with the United Nations Entity for Gender Equality and the Empowerment of Women (UN-Women), is organizing a training session to collect gender-disaggregated economic livelihood data, age, and other social factors from December 16-18, 2024, in Ca Mau City, Ca Mau Province, for 121 officials working in disaster prevention and control at the provincial, district, and commune levels.

The people of Lai Chau actively protect their livestock during the prolonged cold and severe cold weather.

Lai Châu Province currently has over 370,000 livestock, including more than 120,000 buffaloes and cows. The prolonged cold spell, which has lasted since after the Lunar New Year, has significantly impacted the production and livestock farming of the people.

The Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development approved the Document guiding the implementation of the Project "Raising public awareness and Community-based disaster risk management, by 2030"

On October 17, 2024, the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development approved the Guidance Document for the implementation of the Project "Raising public awareness and Community-based disaster risk management, by 2030" (Decision No. 3517/QD-BNN-DD)
